① Tungsten-Cobalt Cemented Carbide

Its grade is composed of "YG" (the initials of the Chinese pinyin for "hard" and "cobalt") followed by the percentage of average cobalt content.

For example, YG8 indicates an average WCo content of 8%, with the remainder being tungsten carbide in the tungsten-cobalt cemented carbide.

Tungsten-cobalt alloys are typically used for: cemented carbide cutting tools, molds, and mining products.

② Tungsten-Titanium-Cobalt Cemented Carbide

    For example, YT15 indicates an average TiC content of 15%, with the remainder being tungsten carbide and cobalt in the tungsten-titanium-cobalt cemented carbide.

③ Tungsten-Titanium-Tantalum (or Niobium) Cemented Carbide

Its grade is composed of "YW" (the initials of the Chinese pinyin for "hard" and "ten thousand") followed by a sequence number, such as YW1.

Classification by Shape

Spherical

Commonly used cemented carbide balls include: YG6, YG6x, YG8, YG13, YG20, YN6, YN9, YN12, YT5, and YT15 cemented carbide balls.

Rod-shaped

Advantages: 1. Good wear resistance; 2. Good corrosion resistance; 3. High toughness; 4. Manufactured using extrusion and HIP sintering methods.

Applications: Cemented carbide rods are mainly suitable for drills, end mills, and reamers. They can also be used for cutting, punching, and measuring tools. They are used in the paper, packaging, printing, and non-ferrous metal processing industries. Additionally, they are widely used for processing high-speed steel cutting tools, cemented carbide milling cutters, cemented carbide cutting tools, NAS cutting tools, aerospace cutting tools, cemented carbide drills, core drills for milling cutters, high-speed steel tapers, metric milling cutters, micro end mills, reaming pilots, electronic cutting tools, step drills, metal cutting saws, double-margin drills, gun drills, angle milling cutters, and cemented carbide rotary files.

Cemented carbide rods can not only be used as cutting and drilling tools (such as micro drills, twist drills, and vertical mining cutter bits), but also as input pins, various roller wear parts, and structural materials. Furthermore, they can be widely applied in many fields such as machinery, chemicals, petroleum, metallurgy, electronics, and the defense industry.
